A combination of trail blazing and cleanup … the cool section just south of Solstice (formerly The Gables) that features open forest, large trees and a great view of the northern reaches of Towner’s Swamp, is somewhat overgrown, and littered with a few fallen trees. In some places, the blazing is so hard to find it’s easy to loose the trail completely. So this work party will be a combination of clipping, blazing and a little light chainsaw work. A little bit for everyone. Meet at the Granite Road entrance … at the very end of Granite Road enter the small parking lot to the right, just as you see the Solstice Complex proper. Bring work gloves and any hand tools you’re comfortable using. We’ll have a chain saw or two, the necessary safety equipment, as well as the blazing materials. [est 2 -3 hours]
