In the past few years, scientists have discovered how to rewrite genes with a technology called CRISPR. Drawing from his upcoming book, She Has Her Mother’s Laugh: The Powers, Perversion and Potential of Heredity, New York Times columnist Carl Zimmer explores the potential and perils of this newfound power. Zimmer’s book will be released in May.
