A trail system decades in the making, Westwoods in Guilford offers over 39 miles of forested hiking trails close to the Connecticut shoreline. The latest addition to the Westwoods property is an example of the success of state grant programs and of collaboration: Westwoods is jointly owned and operated by the town of Guilford, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (for the Cockaponset State Forest section), and the Guilford Land Conservation Trust.
