Cruise Nights sponsored by Apple Pi Robotics. 5PM – 8PM (dusk) June 20, June 27, July 18, August 1 and August 15.

Includes antique and unusual cars, barbecued hot dogs and hamburgers, soft drinks, music, and robotics demonstrations and lots of FUN! No better atmosphere for a relaxing Cruise Night than the grassy fields in back of the Little Red Barn at Bishops Orchard right off Route 1 in Guilford, CT. Come enjoy some of the best music from the 50′s, 60′s and 70’s, have a barbecued burger and watch the sun go down while “talking cars”. The Apple Pi robot will be on hand for demonstrations. Admission is FREE although donations of any kind are greatly appreciated. All donations and proceeds from our concession are used to fund the Apple Pi Robotics Program

Apple Pi is a group of high school students from Guilford and surrounding communities working to make the “connection” between the academic lessons of a high school curriculum and the world of an engineering-based business. Opportunities exist to take part in all aspects of the business – planning, financing, marketing, design and the building of a robot intended to compete against other robots in a game that changes every year. Students are presented with the real-world challenges dealing with time, budget and resource constraints.

Apple Pi is also a group of mentors from the local community who work in engineering, science, business management and many other disciplines within their respective companies. These mentors provide guidance and perspective as the students embark on their journey.
