Family Hike – Braemore Preserve

Family hike, Sunday, July 24, Guilford-Madison. Explore two beautiful preserves in North Guilford and North Madison.  The hike, which is sponsored by the Connecticut Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club, will begin at 9 a.m. (Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior)  The 3 mile route includes the Lone Pine Trail, the Mattabessett Trail and the red trail to Coan Pond in Madison’s Rockland Preserve, and takes approximately 3 hours. Be prepared to encounter moderate terrain with some ups and downs, while enjoying meadows, wetlands, pine bluffs and rocky ridges. Meet at the Braemore Preserve parking lot on Route 77 in North Guilford, opposite Bluff Head Farm (5000 Durham Road). Note: steady rain cancels this event.  Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
