Hyland House Opening Weekend: Celebrate 101 years!

  • This event has passed.

June 1, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

Hyland House Museum (1713)

Located just east of the Guilford Green, the Hyland House was built in 1713 and is an outstanding example of early Colonial architecture.  Early inhabitants were Ebenezer Parmelee, a master carpenter and clockmaker, and Candace, a slave and part of Guilford’s Witness Stones project to acknowledge the area’s slave history.  The Hyland House is fully furnished as if a family still lived there in the early Guilford Colonial-style with collections of furnishings and beds, quilts, many toys and dolls, kitchenware, tools and other interesting items and clothing, including whalebone corsets.

For our 101st year celebrations, join us for special activities, house tours and “I Spy” Treasure Hunts.

Donations welcome.
