- This event has passed.
October 10, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Guilford Free Library and the Guilford Keeping Society are pleased to offer this continuing lecture series honoring the legacy of Guilford’s first town librarian, Edith B. Nettleton.
Tracy Tomaselli, Secretary, Board of Directors, Alder Brook Cemetery and local genealogist/historian will tell stories about some interesting persons interred in Alder Brook Cemetery. The talk will include the history of the Cemetery, as well as stories of some of those interred there: a lady who died in the Hartford Circus Fire (1944), a man who had both his thumbs amputated, a slave and a slave owner, an equine undertaker, some who were lost at sea, in plane and train accidents, a professional baseball player, inventors, and others. As a special bonus, pictures of the inside of the maintenance building will be included.
