Israel-Palestine Film Series: “The Other Son”

The Guilford Free Library and the New Haven chapter of Jewish Voices for Peace will present a four-part film and discussion series, “From the Jordan River to the Sea: Isreal-Palestine in Film.” These films offer a human face to the news we hear about the contentious and often violent relationship between Israelis and Palestinians in the land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. A short, moderated discussion will follow each film.
The first film in the series, The Other Son is about two young men–one Israeli, the other Palestinian – discover they were accidentally switched at birth. The film explores the complex repercussions for the boys and their respective families which cause them all to re-evaluate their beliefs and resistance to the neighboring culture. The discussion after the film will be led by Shelly Altman, Co-chair, Jewish Voice for Peace New Haven.
