n honor of National Trails Day the Branford staff of Denali is teaming up with the Guilford Land Conservation Trust for trail stewardship. We’ll meet up at A.W. Cox School. Please meet at the red barn at the beginning of Three Mile Course. Based on the attendance we plan to prioritize task 1 below which is located a short distance from the meeting spot.
1. Clear invasive plants at Spencer’s Creek. Bring work gloves and wear long pants and sleeves. Plant identification training will be provided.
2. Brush trails in Westwoods. Bring loppers or small trail saws if you have them. We will hike in Westwoods, widening the trail where necessary. Guidance on brushing will be provided.
3. Visit Dudley-Barrows Preserve to help remove invasive plants by the pond. Bring work gloves and wear long pants and sleeves. Plant identification training will be provided. [est 2 hours]

Heavy rain will usually cancel any of these work parties, so if you have questions about the schedule, please feel free to contact me [email protected] or Paul Proulx [email protected] on the morning of each event. We’ll also announce cancellations or schedule changes by email, so it’s a good idea to check your mail before you leave the house. Paul also carries his cell phone (203-687-7756) on these events, so if you’re late and want people to wait, give him a call.
