  • This event has passed.

December 17, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

The public is warmly invited to attend the Living Nativity at St. John’s Episcopal Church in North Guilford, on Sunday, December 18th at 5 p.m. Please join us to celebrate the birth of Christ with this lovely dramatic tableau which uses actors and live animals. Sheep, llamas, a donkey, (and possibly some Guilford chickens) will accompany the Wise Men, shepherds and angels by candlelight to greet Mary, Joseph and the Christ Child at the stable in Bethlehem.

A voluntary contribution will be taken to support Start Fresh, A New London area refugee settlement team which partners with IRIS, the Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services. It provides welcome, support and helps facilitate housing, furniture, food, clothing, English classes and job assistance for refugees. Partnership entails meeting standards of IRIS to help resettle refugees, including raising $4,000 to $10,000 per family to help in all aspects of resettlement. Specially trained volunteers help refugees in this involved process.

Congregational singing of Christmas hymns accompanies this beautiful presentation of “The Reason for the Season.” All are invited to St. John’s Kiesel Hall afterwards for cocoa and cookies and fellowship. The church is located at 129 Ledge Hill Road, North Guilford.
