St. George Men’s Group ItalianFest 2018 Mangia…Mangia!!!
Come join us for two fun-filled nights of great homemade Italian foods, beer and wine, a Raw Bar, entertaining and dancing music, face painting, and a game area for the kids. Yes, the St. George Men’s Group is presenting “ItalianFest 2018,” a unique shoreline event.
There are new contests for this year, too. We will be holding a Professional and Amateur Meatball Tasting, a Spaghetti-eating contest for those 16 and older and a Lucille Ball Look-a-Like Grape Stomping contest.
For the Meatball Tasting Contest, please bring 6-12 meatballs so our judges can taste and select the Best Meatball. There will be two categories, Professional (restaurants) and Home-Cooked (Amateur).
Come dressed as Lucille Ball as her character in her grape stomping episode and enter the Grape Stomping contest.
As for the music, we have two great swing bands, the Shiny Lapel Trio at 5:30pm on Friday, followed by Four Barrel Billy at 8:00pm. On Saturday night we have the returning band from last year, The Adlers Band, who will be playing all night.
This is not only a great time for eating and dancing but we will also have some fun for all our patrons with our bocce tournaments, kids area and kids games.
The dates will be Friday, Aug. 24 from 5:00pm until 10:30pm and Saturday, Aug 25 from 3:00pm until 10:30pm. The event will be held at the St. George Church on Whitfield St. on the Green in Guilford. Admission price is only $5.00 for everyone 16 and older.
So come on down, sign up for some fun events and enjoy two nights of great food, drink and music.
All proceeds will benefit the Guilford Meals on Wheels Program.
ABOUT MEALS ON WHEELS
The Meals on Wheels Program operates in virtually every community, including our town of Guilford, in America through our network of more than 5,000 independently run local programs. While the diversity of each program’s services and operations may vary based on the needs and resources of their communities, they are all committed to supporting their senior neighbors to live healthier and more nourished lives in their own homes.
Together, we galvanize the resources of local community organizations, businesses, donors, sponsors and more than two million volunteers – bolstered by supplemental funding from the Older Americans Act – into a national safety net for our seniors.
ABOUT the St. George Men’s Group
In our five years of operation, the St. George Men’s Group has raised and donated over $200,000 to various local and national charities through social events like the St. Patrick’s Day Dance, Kentucky Derby Dinner, Charity Golf Tournaments, Nostalgic Drive-In Movie Night and the always popular ItalianFest. With direction from our Pastor and Guilford Social Services, the St. George Men’s Group has also performed numerous “acts of kindness,” providing various types of assistance to community members in need.
