Musica Vera Duo
Mark Bailey, baroque viola, and Kevin Sherwin, guitar, go on a musical journey through history, featuring distinctive music from Western Europe, Eastern Europe, and especially Colonial America. As the music of Europe influenced the creative spirit of early America, enjoy music of song and dance, reflection and patriotism, as meaningful for audiences today as it was for our ancestors. Repertoire includes works by American colonial composers including Jacob Kimball, Thomas Paine, Samuel Holyoke, William Billings as well as great European masters such as Handel, Pepusch, and W.A. Mozart. Works include Arnheim by Samuel Holyoke, Sonata in D minor by J.C. Pepusch, Andante Cantabile by Mozart, as well as an original composition by Kevin Sherwin.
