The Iliad of Homer: 4-part Series with Carol Rizzolo, April 10 at the Guilford Free Library

  • This event has passed.

April 10, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Guilford local Carol Rizzolo will focus on what has become known as the Trojan Cycle in this 4-part lecture series. Beginning with the marriage of King Peleus and the sea goddess Thetis, we will be exploring the writings of Euripides and Homer as we learn of the stories that led up to and include the Trojan War.

Odysseus, Achilles, Agamemnon and the other kings have sworn an oath that they are each willing to die for: to protect the marriage of King Menelaus to the beautiful Helen. But why would they be willing to risk their lives for this? That oath and the cruel winds of war lead to tales of sacrifice, murder and the story that has been told for over 2500 years: The Iliad of Homer.

Carol Rizzolo holds a doctorate in Mythology and Psychology and currently works as a Transition Coach, helping clients tap their own innate depth of wisdom and find their own unique voice.

Please plan to attend all four sessions. Please register.
